Need advice on PPG sealer

My 1st post & it's long - thanks in advance!!!
I am working on getting my Factory Five Roadster (Cobra) ready to paint in the spring. Slick Sand has been applied and I am block sanding: first with 120, then 220, and now wet-sanding with 400. It looks pretty good - there are some areas where the gel coat is showing. The car will be dark blue with a white stripe. I am using Deltron DBC.
I plan to spray the white DBC base coat directly over the SS but then after I tape off the stripes, I think that I need to apply a dark sealer so that the white doesn’t show through the dark blue body color.
My PPG guy talked me into going with CRE epoxy primer (tinted dark blue) over the Slick Sand but now I’m really starting to have doubts about this stuff. This is a commercial/industrial product. I have been searching the internet trying to learn more about it. Some like it and some don’t. Since it’s not an automotive product PPG does not offer any instructions for prepping the surface.
So – my questions:
1) Which PPG sealer should I use over Slick Sand before spraying the blue DBC basecoat?
2) Do I really need a sealer or will the blue DBC hide the white?
3) Anybody have experience with the CRE epoxy primer?
Any advice is appreciated!

well I prolly would not use the CRE but you could use DPS3055 Gray primer or maybe DAS3025 Gray sealer / DAS3021 White sealer. I would use the Gray or white sealer then the white would hide faster less coats but since its going to be the stripe I still would do three coats of white you would spray the stripe first the back mask and spray the blue. sadly I have never used SS so I dont know if the sealer is compatible with it or not.

and I would bet the blue would hide the white with a couple coats. Is this a dark blue or a light Blue?

if you had the PPG # for the blue I could just look it up

Wydir,
Thanks for your help.
Most of the guys painting these cars put the stripe basecoat right over the Slick Sand. They don't mask for the stripe - just paint an area larger than the stripe right down the middle. Then they mask off the stripe and either put down a sealer or start with the body color basecoat. The Slick Sand is compatible with the DBC but I'm not sure if my blue would hide the white. The blue is Ditzler 12547.

H, M30J1544 / 12547 - MIDNIGHT BLUE POLY, NOCTURN BLUE POLY .

I hope you know this is also a chrysler color :)

Yes I agree I would probably do the same and spray the stripe color down the middle first.

So a couple coats of sealer then straight to the stripe color then back mask the stripe then on to the blue. from looking at the formula I would say it will hide just fine.

You had mentioned that you had some gelcoat spots showing. Not for sure where these spots are, but if they are in the area of the stripe, I would also spray some white sealer. Then I would spray the white stripes.
Then you can mask up the stripes and spray a darker gray sealer. So YES, you will need to spray a sealer on before the blue. Most blue pearl or metallics will turn out brighter where you had sprayed the white sealer and white stripes. Plus when you spray a sealer, it will take less basecoat to cover making it easier on you to spray the blue color.

We just use the KS House of Kolor Sealers. We'll mix the KS-10 with the KS-11. The darker the blue you are spraying , the darker the gray I would make. If it's a pretty dark blue, you can get away with just spraying a black sealer.
