Someone is wanting to sell a DeVilbiss spray gun to me he said it's a JGA 502 the air cap is a #30, the needle is a JGA-402-DEX, and the tip is a AV-15-EX? I went on the DeVilbiss site and couldn't find anything on this gun does anyone know if this is a HVLP or Conventional spray gun? and what this gun would be good for with the air cap, needle, and fluid tip listed??????

Thanks

It's a plainjane JGA.I retired mine years ago spraying primer at the time but it isn't bad for base if you run it as open as possible.Once the medium solids clears appeared it couldn't hack it.I'd give $50 for it but not much more.

Sounds like you did the right thing.I'm don't mean to trash the JGA because it is a good gun but there's much better and more versatile available for a C note more.By the time you you played around with tips and aircaps to spray what you need to you're pretty close to the same without the aggrevation.PPG still has listings for setups on the MBC and I believe the JGA,but the multiple setups wont work like a GFG (gravity feed) with a 1.4 tip-it'll spray damn near everything nice.
