make the base coat your *****!
Ckoski01 gave you some good advise....now here's my 2 cents...after you put at least your 4 coats of base walk away and go grab a beer, on your way grab a sheet of 1000 and throw it in a bucket of very clean water...about 15 minutes later sand the base lightly with the sheet of 1000, this will give you a "perfect foundation" for success (trust me on this), use a clean shammy to wipe of the surface and now go put some DBC500 in your clean gun with the right temp reducer and apply two medium coats for the silver base, "again" this will give you a perfect foundation for the next couple of coats of silver, make sure not to use to much air pressure because it will dry out the base before it hits the surface. At this point this is where you make the base coat your biitch...lay it down like you own it....only one coat at a time, most of you painters like to double and triple coat because your in a big hurry, relax there is more beer waiting for you when your done! LET IT FLASH! 2 more coats followed by a 3rd and last mist coat will make you very happy....there's nothing like experience... let me know how it works for you my friend.
