Need help from Germany for choice of color

Dear Members,
I am a bicycle frame builder from Germany and need some help from the Pro's :)
I would like to paint my newest frame in a special color,
which I have seen on the internet from a classic Mustang (image attached).

Because I have made great results with "House Of Kolor" so far, I would like to use
this brand. :bigokay: Sadly no one here in Germany (from the HOK-distribution) can help me.
What do you think? How to get this color? Which base-coat and which Candy-Colors, what to mix?

Thanks very much and kind regards,
Max

Looks pretty close to the color of my truck (see my Avatar or the 'build' thread elsewhere on this forum).
Anyway, I really don't see anyway you can get that color from HOK colors. The closest would be the limetime green, but that's not very close. I would suggest going through a Sikkens of Glassurit color book and I'm sure you will find a color close. A couple colors that come to mind when I see that color is the Kia Soul color and the Hyandai Genisis color (probably a little too bright). Possibly the Kia Soul color will suit your needs.

Hell Taz,
thanks for your response! Your truck looks pretty nice and I also like the color.
I am searching a color like attached, or just like your truck and have already discovered
the lifetime green from HOK, and found that it wouldn't fit my need. But maybe by mixing
it with other colors from HOK? - But I have no experience with this.

I have already looked at Glasurit colors and found a color, that matches pretty good.
But the problem with Glasurit and Sikkens here in Germany is, that they a water based.
And I don't want a water based color on a bicycle frame, 'cause it does not have the same nice effects
as a HOK paintjob, or some none-water based colors on the tubes and all the small parts of the frame.
That is the problem - here in Germany :(
Thanks!
So far,
Max

I looked at Limetime Green Shimrin color and it appears fairly close to my truck, but the Limetime has a VERY fine pearl in it.
Since you are stuck with using the HOK line, you may get more of a lime green/gold by adding some other Shimrin gold color to the Limetime.

Assuming you meant Limetime and not lifetime.

Assuming you meant Limetime and not lifetime.

:haha: of course. My mac has done it for me...

the fine pearl is okay for me. So, limetime mixed with gold could be a good result, mh?
Someone said to me HOK DP 43 over BC 26 could do a good job. Sadly I can not find this on pictures and
haven't got a HoK color-chart. What do you think?

Thanks!

Correct me if i'm wrong, i've never used water bourne paints but isn't it only the basecoat that's water bourne? You still use a 2 pack clear over it, so you can use your HOK clear over the water bourne basecoat if you have some.

over seas you could look at Nexa Aquabase products they are waterbased and can be mixed with Vibrance pearls to create an effect that your after.

and yes nzgrip you are correct about the waterbased paints you can use whatever clear you want to over it just be dang sure its dry all the way before clearing

Weird how the water based paint is only the basecoat.
I always thought it was the clear that did more damage to the environment than the base.
