Need help with synthetic enamel

Hello all, I am not a total newbie I have painted one truck bc/cc and i know how to finish it and all that good stuff. But now I am painting my own motorcycle not doing anything fancy or flashy just standard black. I got a good deal on some nason synthetic enamel i got a gallon and a half for $20. So my questions, will that be compatible with duplicolor spray can primer? Also do i wet sand and buff the same way i would with bc/cc?

Hello,
Synthetic enamel is very forgiving as far as what you can put it over, so yes, you shouldn't have a problem putting over the spray can primer.

As far as buffing, you buff it like any other paint, you'll just have to wait quite a bit longer.

Assuming that you are putting hardener in the paint, I would recommend about 4 days or so.

Yes, you can also wetsand along with the buffing.

To add to this thread....keep in mind, if you do a metallic and you are not clearing it, it's probably a good idea "not" to wetsand and buff. A solid color would be fine though.

Also, don't forget, you'll need reducer and probably a 'ground coat' of something under the paint your have (i.e if you are shooting a bright solid red, you should go white. If you are shooting a medium blue metallic, go with a medium solid gray for the ground coat)

I realize in your case, you are spraying a black, but just posted this for others to read in case they spray a synthetic enamel
