Hey guys. I am a newbie to painting but I am painting my inlaws bike. I just have a few questions. Any opinions or tips would be greatly appreciated. I am painting gas tank, oil tank, fenders and 2 helmets. I am using omni primer 282,HOK base bc11, HOK kandy tangerine. Omni urethane clear and mini gold flakes. After the paint I am going to spray a few skulls with a stencil(black omni urethane) Here go all my questions..

1. I was told I can wait 5-15 min between coats but I am not sure how long to wait between primer to base. base to kandy. kandy to clear then clear to stencil paint.

2. I am assuming I have to wait for the clear to fully cure before taping stencil on then spraying. How long should I wait?

3. I am going to shoot the clear with mini flake. Then I will tape the stencil then spray with black paint. Should I clear coat over the stencil paint?

4. I have 13, 15, 18 and 21 tips. should I use 18 or 21 for the mini flake? I am spraying with a flg3 devilbliss gravity feed.

Thanks in advance

Not for sure if the Omni you are using is a sealer or primer. (I know you said primer). If it's a primer, you should probably let it dry, then sand, then do your base.
Overnight should be fine. If it's a wet on wet sealer, then I would say about 5 minutes or so. Again, I'm not familiar with the 282 sealer though.

I would think overnight would be fine before you resand the clear and do the skulls.

Yes, you should reclear over the skulls. Otherwise, they eventually will wear off. Be sure and sand the clear before doing the skulls and reclear.

Mini flakes really don't take that large of a tip. So a 1.5 and bigger should be fine.
