New guy with Gloss flames on flat car

Hey
I painted this car last summer with spray bombs, my first flame job! I have since moved the car on but am planning a ghost flame job on my next project, so found my way here while looking for info.

I pinstriped the edges in silver, not shown. Ive been drawing flames for years & look forward to doing something a little more technical for my next project.

if you can tell me how to do that and not have an edge between the gloss and the flat you will have a friend for life.lol.cyas

I thought of doing it black but wasnt sure... Really the whole car was my test panel!
For the next one Im planning more of a layered front & back job, likely still flat black then clear the flames
