Evening everyone.
Thought I would share a few photos of my latest paint job done this past winter. Open to everyone's input and suggestions; funny the camera and the computer make things look actually not so bad right? Well take it from me, me and orange peel....were good buddies!....need a new (REAL) gun and slower reducer and hardner/clear. Gettin better though...

the first photo was last years job. It's a yamaha indigo base with a red/pearl dusting/then cleared.
This year I tried my hand at some finish line graphics with the air brush, so I scuffed, rebased indigo dark blue base, layed down my finish lines, then made a custom candy blue clear by mixing some of my blue base with the clear which gives the finish line/white a blueish tint. In the end I learned alot about taping/masking and making edges by spraying to much for my graphics. Looking forward to this winters project.

Going to copper/orange base and thinking about customizing the base with a green pearl dust. Then I will mask off some graphics and will spray a metalic black and then peel of the masking to reveal the copper/orange graphics....should be a fun challenge!!!

Looks like you did a great job. Nice to be able to do you own 'yearly' paint job. Gives your bike a whole new look every year. Looks like next year's paint job will be a totally different look!!

Thanks Taz!,
As you know the camera can be very forgiving. Up close and personal these tins are at least in my eyes a far cry from what they could be. They lack that LUSTER///and depth. Hopefully I will begin to address this with some tips from this forum. Hoss has been helping me out alot with some good tips (!!! thanks Hoss!!)) so I'm looking forward to putting these new tips to work.

Right now I'm dealing with those micro swirls and lack of luster. I'm gonna give Wizards final cut and hand glaze a shot and see if I can bring them to life for this season!....

no problem and any time.

w/ well cured clears, turbo cut might be what you need b/c it's a hardend aged clear.

Got it!, thanks again Hoss!

When I cleard, I did a "tack coat", then I dumped my 2nd coat, then 2 final wet coats....so there should be plenty of clear to work with. I should mention 2-3 coats of my custom candy/blue clear....so dang, there plenty of clear I guess....

Are there any resellers of Wizard's products? or am I best to order direct from them?

Dirk, it makes me proud that after all these years your sharing some of the tips I gave you years ago! It's great to watch you grow with each job. You still didn't find me that 65 Impala.
