New to Custom Painting - Question

I'm a new member as well as new to the boards so please excuse my rookie questions.

I was looking through the gallery and was really impressed with job #304 - Candy Tangerine Flames over a Black Metallic Base. It says the base color looks black until it gets in the sun and then it takes on a root beer appearance. I'm assuming the root beer color is due to a light coating of the candy tangerine over the black metallic base -- is that the actual color of the base?. And would there be metallic flake in the Tangerine as well?

Thanks.

Scott did this so he'd have to verify it but yeah,a light coat of tangerine pearl over the black metalic will give you that effect. Also a thin coat of candy would come up about the same but a different effect-he has to verify the job without actually seeing it.

Thanks for the response. So there are only 2 colors in that job - Black Metallic and Tangerine Pearl?

Thanks, I'm learning alot reading throught the boards.

On the flames where it gets darker is that just the black metallic sprayed over the candy tangerine or is that a different color?

Thanks.
