im wanting to learn how to custom paint. what would be a good starter gun i would perfer a hvlp or something that uses low pressure, also where could i get a affordable compressor?? ive seen a few pretty good sized ones at sears would they work??? im kinda on a budget somewhat so i dont wana buy the best and most exspensive at first. is ppg paint any good???? ive got a flame job on my truck now as u can see in the avatar and im not happy with it and im wanting to redo it. thanks

SS -- First thing is to go to a local sign maker in your town and buy some sign blanks - - Aluminum powder coated blanks - -practice on these before you start on your ride -- As Far as guns -- You can get a good cheap DeVillbis at Sears for around 150.00 -- or you can get a Geo for around 400.00 -- Sometimes your better off with the good stuff because it's just easier to work with. I've got a Sears 6HP 80 Gal. compressor and it has worked great for 5 years - Noisy but good!! PPG is a great paint line unless you go with the cheaper Omni line -- Talk to your jobber and let him know what your doin - tell him you don't want the BEST - but you don't want Junk!!! -- Let us know how it works out!! -- Bones!~

thanks...ive got extra parts from my truck (pic in avatar) like hood etc... im practicing on them. i found a devilbis or how ever its spelled on a site that sells nuttin but guns for 129.99 its in the finish line series i believe i was thinking about pick one up. thats good news on the compressor thats what ive been looking at getting. thanks for the advice!

SS - Make sure you pick up a water trap for that compressor - and throw one on the end of your gun -- they make cheap ones for your gun -- Bones!~
