First time poster....Just want to say I have learned quite abit just reading all of your posts, (hiding in the background).
Anyway...I am painting new metal for my 2k Sportster. I used PPG MBC for the base and MC 161 clear/MR 186 reducer.

I am shoot the paint in my garage which I preheat before I paint. All seem fine, paint goes down fine. I just cleared and was curious if it will botch my job if it gets to cold ?
I am just a weekend warrior when it come to painting, any advice would be great appreciated. Do you thing MBC is good for a beginer ?

Hi I dont know how cold 70farenheight is but you you need fast reducers and hardeners if you are painting in the cold.if it get really cold you will se the basecoat go milky looking.
the clear coat will eventually go hard in the cold just will be more diffucult to apply because of run and longer wait in between.
Just make sure you are using fast reducer and hardener, and if it goes a little too dull for your liking cut and polish it back up

I too use mbc AND dbc.Alot of times I spray at 75 then go home.Keep the room warm for about a hour or so and youl do fine. The clear your using dries well in cold conditions.Ive done about 30 cars this year in the cold and never had a problem with gloss or haze.I like to use medium hardner for 50 to 70 degrees.Any colder and go with fast.Any warmer and you need slow.Remember that humidity plays a role too! Well , there were a few dust nibs but other than that, all is good.
I appreciate your inputs. Now that I know the cold is not going to effect outcome I will be trying my hand at some flaming for the first time.
