Hi, I have never painted a motorcycle before, however my fiance and I are working on his Honda CBR. He does the polishing and parts and I have said I would love to paint it. The question I have is we want it done by mid May and since I have no experience painting a motorcycle do you think if i paint one straight color it will be easy enough to do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Sure, as long as you have the basic equipment you shouldn't have a problem. One straight color is pretty easy. I'm new to painting myself with no schooling or previous experience. Everything I know about painting I've learned from this board, by talking to people and reading other peoples posts, and now I,ve been doing flame jobs and pretty intracate airbrushing on my own, but I'm still learning. So if you really want to learn your in the right place. Good Luck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

One little tip. If your going to be buying a paint gun, be advised, HVLP means high volume, low pressure. Id just like to empahsize that the high volume part means you need a compresser that will deliver oh, at least 13cfm and 15 is better. In other words, a big compresser. But you can get along with a smaller gun, non hvlp or compliant and a smaller compresser if all you want to do is paint a motor cycle. Look at the samller Iwata and Sata paint guns I.E. Iwata lph 50 or lph100 or Sata mini jet. They are tops in my book and if you later decide you dont want to paint anymore you can easily sell them and get some of your money back. MY .02 Al
