Hi, I'm a noobie on the forum. I am painting a friends motorcycle gas tank. He wanted some flames on the black base. Put them on and he didn't like them, wanted me to sand off and go with straight black tank. I sanded them off and went thru the intercoat in a couple places. My question: Can I sand the base with 800 wet and then reseal and put on more base? Or will I have to start all over.
Thanks

From what I read, you don't have to really remove anything. Just be sure that the surface is 'flat'. Once it is, spray black to cover. Then reclear.
This is assuming that you did not mask up the tank, then cut out the flames. Razor blade scratches will be hard to cover.
