not sure what to do?

I have a red peice from a bike that has a shotty black flame job on the bottom half. I mean there are spots where the flames were sanded and the red paint is sanded completely through down to the black plastic. Should I sand off the flames and repaint the entire peice or should I just touch up the areas that are bad.

Not seeing a picture it's hard to give advice, but I'd say to sand her down and start from scratch. You'll do a much better job than trying to "touch it up".
