Wanted to go through one final check with you guys before I ordered my supplies. Since this is my first paint job, I want to be sure I've got the bases covered.
I've already ordered wax and grease remover, etc, so let's assume my parts are prepped and ready to go. I'm doing Kandy Tangerine over a gold base mixed with black to get some color variations. Here's my list (all HOK):
1 Qt Zenith Gold Base Coat - BC-12
1 Qt Black Base Coat - BC-25
1 Qt Intercoat Clear - SG-100
1 Qt Kandy Tangerine - UK-08
1 Pt Urethane Catalyst - KU-100
1 Qt Clear Coat - UC-35
1 Qt Final Clear - UFC-35
1 Qt Hardener - KU-150
2 Qts Medium Reducer - RU-311
All together, I would need 3 quarts of reducer for the amount of paint and clear I have. But I won't be using all of what I'm buying now, which is why I'm only getting 2 quarts.
According to the tech sheets, the base coats and intercoat are mixed 2 to 1 with reducer, the Kandy is mixed 2 to 1 to 1 with reducer and the KU100 catalyst, and the clear coats are mixed 2 to 1 to 1 with reducer and the KU150 catalyst.
So do I have it straight? My confidence is pretty high, but I might as well use the great resources on this board since they're here!
