Please check out the pics I ust uploaded in the current projects file of my 0ld skool 67 GMC project. I have finished up the suede black and now it's time for some flames. The color will be Chevy orange for the flames. I just want to know what you guys would do with orange flames on this truck. What kind of layout and do you think I should do solid orange flames with blue pin striping or should I just spray along the edge and fad the orange in a bit kinda like this

I would really appreciate the opinions of everyone that views this. I will be laying out and shooting the flames in a couple weeks and would like some input from my group of flame fanatic peers :D

IMO, (and that is what you asked for) I would just do the edges and fade it in. I think solid flames over black primer might look a little too ghetto..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/luck.gif

I think that the fade look would work better as well . I also agree with L.S. in that flames on the primer ...Kinda ghetto /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/foreheadslap.gif

Thanks guys. I was leaning more towards that way. Oh and it's actually suede black paint, not a primer. I was going to go with primer, but it's to porous and would cause the body to rust underneath.

yes, that was meant to be punny.

To me, those aren't "solid" flames. They have shading around the edges of another color, and that would work in your case.

To do just one color with no shading would look incomplete. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yikes02.gif
