orion silver tips or tricks

I would suggest going with a medium gray sealer, then use another regular metallic, THEN do the Orion.

Orion is VERY transparent, so you basically want it in a Silver before you coat it with Orion.

You can get away without doing this on motorcycle parts, but to do a quite a bit of Orion to do complete car. You'll probably find it quicker, easier, and you'll use less materials in the long run.

:luck:

Sharp and double sharp for doing a '79 T/A

I just sold my '77 T/A with 56K original miles on it!

Shouldn't your user name be CrazyTA ?

Get it out in the sun as soon as you can to look for light spots...I personaly will stay further back with the gun when I am reaching full coverage..I will add some of the Orion silver in my clear.... It can be a tricky color sometimes.

I just put the decal on and left it.

Not for sure how it would last if you cleared over it.

The first advise I can give is ,Reduce 50% and overlap 50% .Also you will find that FBC-02 orion silver will cover way better the BC-02 orion silver this is a serios tip, or you can seal with (KS 212 or KS-12 silver sealer (yeah you heard right metalic sealer!) both are good, one is compliant for california both use KU-150 and reduce also with 310 311 or 312 )wait one hour at 7o degrees then top coat with orion silver sealing is way better! Are you going to apply Kandy? you can get a free tech book from House Of Kolor just by calling (800) 845-2500 and ask them, they can tell you where to get one or they can send it to you free. Lots of luck .....!

Thanks for the info steve, I already got the paint finished. What I wound up doing was using ppg honda fine silver as a base then toped it with the orion silver.
