you can pinstripe by hand with a brush (if that's what you're already doing?), or you can tape out your line and spray or brush in the line

Try this: spray your pinstripe color. then mask over it with 3M after it has dried, then spray your flame color over that.

I've been wondering how to go about this step also. I would appreciate a little more detail on the taping for the outlining process. Are you spraying the first flame coat as the outline color, then lying the tape right over the top of the flame near the tape edge leaving the original flame as the outline color? This might be a dumb question, but I just can't see any other way other than freehanding them. I would like to know how the some of the outlined paint jobs in the samples section of this site are done.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kartracer,
You can read a previous post on a way to outline your flames here.

This should give you more details on how to do it without having to actually hand stripe it. If you look in my "Samples of Work" page, most of the jobs done are without having to freehand it. The above link will take you to a post to show you how it's done!

Thanks Scott, I had an idea that was the best way to do it. Just didn't want to get into hand striping or cutting the tape. Again, thanks for the info and great site.
