Do it like the first option. You can then sand out the edge from the flames and it wont show on the next set.You can do it with the intercoat clear but you're getting alot of base piled up.

Im going to be doing some over papping and intertwing flames on a HD sportster. Do i just go ahead and lay my first flames down and clear and then sand the clear and do the next flames ? Or do i mask flames, spray the base, unmask the flames without clearing, and then remask over top and then unmask and clear ? Which way works better, i dont want any flame edge in this job... THANKS ! Your site is great by the way
