I am getting ready to repaint a 87 Chevy Blaser I have and was wondering if the black rubber gasket that is exposed between the body and the fiberglass removable top can be painted so as not to be so conspicious because of the color difference. Any thoughts
Thanks

Many moons ago, I owned a 78 Blazer and I painted the gasket along with the top/tail section all with red lacquer.... it looked great for about a year, but because of the flexible nature of the rubber, it eventually started cracking and flaking along the gasket.

I know it's a lot of work, but I would not recommend painting a rubber gasket if you can avoid it.

Good Luck,

Thanks John
I was more concerned about the slim black line running through the paint job and was hoping to eliminate it

i would leave the gasket as is it breaks up the solid color
shows how deep the color really is assuming the color is gonna catch your eye
