Paint Mixing Ratios

If I'm using a Base Concentrate and it says "mix with most solvent base clears at the rate of one pint per sprayable gallon" that means if I'm using a 1:1 ratio of base/reducer then that pint would actually be used in a 1/2 gallon of base prior to mixing, correct?
Thanks

I think I'd mix 1/2 of it up to their ratio and spray some to check the strength, you can keep it or clear it down some if too strong.Top clear wouldn't bother me but it sounds real strong since the base is only 1/2 clear where top clear has more clear content after reduced.

Sounds right to me.I take it you're making a candy? Was that supposed to be slovent base clear or solvent based clear?Topcoat clear has more resin than base clear when reduced so a pint in the base clear sounds pretty strong.

rex,
No, I'm mixing the base now. It says "solvent base clears"
It's made by SEM and it referred to as "Color Horizons Base Concentrate"
Thanks
