paint technique that looks like chrome

anyone here have a secret on how to paint a chrome looking emblem like a V on the hood of a '57 chevy. looks like a real metal emblem but painted instead. also techniques for painted on headlites like on funny car bodies. that stuff looks cool as hell. not looking for silver leaf
