would like opinions on paint i can used for metal.the metal will be primed but was wondering what would be the most forgiving for someone just starting out.is there a paint that dries faster than others at room temp.i'm a little confused when it comes to arcrylic,2k,etc. and what the differences are.thanks for any and all help.

If you want 'fast' drying, you could pretty much go with any of today's basecoat/clearcoat systems. The base dries quickly. Then on some of the system's clearcoats dry faster than others. Most tack up enough you could put outside in the sun in about 4 hours or so.

i agree with taz that base coat is the best to work with, but more info is really needed, are you repainting something doing airbrush work, just practicing painting in general.

as for paint types, acrylic is normaly used for fine art like on canvas, 2k is a paint that has 2 seperate parts that need to be added together to make it work, 1k is paint that is ready to spray and needs no clear coat, 2k always needs clear on top of it, 1k and 2k auto paint require you to wear a paint respirator to protect your health, others if sprayed needs at min a dust mask.
