hey guys...this weekend i painted a tin set for an 03 harley davidson dyna wideglide from bare metal to finished product...i used all dupont paint products, iwata guns, etc...the base color was a HIGH pearl woodland green, and the flame base was a pontiac bronzemist color with lighter bronzemist fading with the airbrush...i have a full album of pics..my dad came down randomly and took pictures of the progress and sometimes me working  lol...but here you go, if you have any questions let me know!!

That looks good, I am doing my bike 95 flh classic. I am completely striping the whole bike, I will be powder coating, polishing and of course painting. I haven't painted in a long time, since I painted parts for my 77 vette back in the 80's so I cann't remember what I used and I didn't clear coat back then. well my question is many I want to paint the bike red ( it will be a fire bike ) I was thinking of having ghost flames but not neccessary. I have a HVLP cheapo gun, I have a inline filter and the little black filter that is attached to the gun. I have sanded the parts ( tank, fairing, fenders, side panels, sadle bags ) and prime them and then sanded again with 400, I haven't primed them again yet. been working on the other parts + I am kind of not possitive what to do I read some where that I was not supposed to sand past the old clear, I did. is this bad? I am not sure what type of paint to use and if I need to seal the primer, how to setup for ghost flame. I need all the info I can get I really donn't what to **** this up.... I know with the right info I can do it I just need some help..
Thanks Rich

i see you're using the blue fine line tape. have you ever tried using the 1/8" green or yellow 3m masking tape? it doesn't leave the glue residue around your tight ovals and it works a lot better than the blue w/o the headache. you can get it the same place you got your blue stuff. you'll just need to order it.

make sure it's the masking tape and not that green plastic crap that doesn't bend or stick at all.
