Painting a boat topsides 34'x3'

Gidday guys,
Thought I'd post here rather than boat painting forums, basically 'cos they all want to roll & tip their paints. And you guys are technically more savy.
I am about to embark on painting my boat. Basically I am using epoxy 2 pac primer hibuilds to prep, then a
2 pac polyurethane. My compressor is 3Hp 16cfm of free air. The manufacture (Hindin Marquip) reckons it puts out 10.5cfm@90psi but the maths don't seem to stack up for me.

I have a Sharpe cobalt 2.2 for spraying putty and a 2.0mm tip for the final primer but I don't have a gun for the topcoat.
All my guns I hooked to pressure pot. ( Even tho they are gravity.)
PU Manufacturers spec is for 1.8mm to 2.2mm for the top coat. Personally, being a occasional painter I would like to err on the conservative
and go 1.8 max & a little more thinners. Go slow & safe!
Budget is definitely limited so I was thinking on Devilbiss finishline 3 with 1.3, 1.5,1.8 tips & keep this gun only for Pu.
AAm I on the right track? Any insights much appreciated.

From what I've read, I'd say you are spot on!
For the spray gun, I would recommend probably the 1.5 setup for the 2-part urethane. Finishline gun sounds like a good choice for a great cheap gun.

Cheers Taz.
I don't know why Altex specify 1.8 to 2.2. I guess its because of the largish area to paint.
I will start with the 1.5 on the engine cover to see how comfortable I am with it.

Sounds good...I think you will be fine with the 1.5
