Painting a plastic helmet questions??

My first helmet (a Shoei, if it makes a difference). I would think that I would need some special prep for acrylic urethanes, but what. I use Omni paints. Also would you base the entire helmet, or bleed the graphic into the all black background of existing finish?The customer wants a skull, (life size) on the back. Thanks for any help. bronzeo

You should be able to sand it with something like 1200 and go but a very thin coat of plastic primer would be helpfull.If you get it on too heavy you'll have to base it black first to cover the primer because it has a red tint to it-at least PPGs DX801 does.
