Painting Chrome?!??

Does anybody know if there is an effective way to prep chrome so you can paint it? I have an 83 Shadow 500 project bike that I'd like to paint the front fender (Chrome) and would like to put some high temp paint on the old exhaust pipes too...any ideas?? TIA,

You will have to sand or sandblast the shine off the chrome. You don't have to get the chrome off just get rid of the shine and rough up the surface so the paint will stick.
