I am prepping a 68 Camaro for a HOK Tangelo Pearl job. My question is this...can you shoot individual panels using this paint or should it be assembled then shot? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Capn, Tangelo pearl is a PBC if i am not mistaken, yes it can be done. Once you achieve full coverage that is it, the color dosent get any darker like a candy does.A candy will keep getting darker the more that is applied, almost black if you keep going,.Make sure you color every thing white before you spray the PBC ( pearl base coat), it makes the PBCs look brighter.
It is a PBC. The tech sheets stated that in lieu of using a white basecoat I could shoot over the primer sealer which is white...think that will be ok? I have heard alot of opinions on shooting panels and since this is not one of my cars I don't want to screw it up and have to redo it. Thanx
I hope it's not too late to save you some grief. Even tho' the Tangelo is a PBC, any difference in air pressure, gun distance, tip angle, etc. can alter the way the pearl platelets lay down, and of course, that will change the way light is reflected, therefore changing the appearance and "color" that your eye sees. I'll give you three guesses as to how I found this out!!! Lots of luck on your project.
