Painting over existing paint?

On new Harley paint (white) would it be cool to mask off all but a portion, and use the existing paint, specificly the existing clear coat, like an innercoat clear and scuff it and spray some clear with pearl over that? I think Harley uses PPG, would HOK clear with the pearl mixed in be alright, I was thinking along the lines of blue prisim?? Al

Yes, you can intermix PPG and HOK...I've done it without any problem.
Possibly you can use the H-D pearl white base, sand it down (800+ grit), then layout some flames, airbrush them with some straight blue toner pearl, them clear...just enough so you can see the flames. They'd be subtle, but would be a nice effect.
