Painting over factory paint on scooter.

Ok so I have a new Honda Ruckus scooter. I made a small error and ended up putting some minor scratches on the kickstand and its bracket. Bare metal is showing and I wonder if I should just hit it with some brush-on touchup paint or remove the bracket and spray it with a can. (I hate the first scratches on anything...)

The question is: Is the paint from the factory special e.g. powder coat or baked on, or is it just an enamel similar to what I would apply with dupli-color or similar?

Sorry this is not a very sophisticated post.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I think I would re shoot the complete bracket. Since you hate scratches you"ll be happier in the long run. I doubt that it's powder coated.

Thanks for the reply - I agree that a repaint is the way to go.
Is Semi Gloss Black Dupli-Color as good as anything in a can?
Any suggestions are appreciated. I don't mind spending a little more to get some good paint.

i would think the dupli color would be the way to go as it's a kick stand. It's always going to take abuse. By using DP you can always touch it up.
