Painting/Prepping Lexan motorcycle dash

I need to paint the dash on my bike, and I am not sure what needs to be done to prep the surface. It is a clear lexan piece. Do I need to scuff the plastic and then apply primer, or can I shoot the paint directly to the lexan? I am using PPG DBU.

you must use a plastic primer (adhesion promoter) then prime with a primer sealer(DP epoxy)when you scuff for the primer use a red scotch pad with some Scuff and clean or equilivant to wash away any release agents.
