I am starting a full custom job on my Sportster and will be painting frame,engine, tins the lot. Starting with the engine. I have stripped it into its component parts and now want to paint the crank cases, cylinder blocks and cylinder heads black. I initially thought of powder coating but am woried about the cureing temp distorting my ali castings. So I am thinking ceramic coating the crank cases and cylinder heads (good heat resistance and durable) and spray painting the the cylinder blocks with POR-15 black velvet super heat resistant paint. Does anybody here have any advice for me on the best options. Am I missing any points or making any mistakes. Any recommended product would be helpfull.
