pearl color decision

hey all, one of my customers, also a friend, brought his 93 Honda Civic 4 door to me to have some extensive custom body mods done. thats basically what my shop is for, as well as paint and body repairs. anyways, we have been shaving all of his tail lights, lisence plate box, all4 door handles, rain gutters, door moldings, antenna, and even the front corner lenses where his blinkers were at. we are installing door poppers, LED strips for brakes, and M3 style mirrors with built in blinkers, and then limo tinting his car. it is allready lowered quite a bit, he is buying new 18's, and putting on a body kit.

my question is this: he has decided on a cobalt blue type color. should we do a metallic color, or a solid and spray a pearl coat. or should we do the metallic with the pearl. also, what would go best with the blue and a pearl. i was thinking like a white pearl over the whole car. and then maybe ghost in the Honda symbols where we shaved his stock emblems. let me know what you guys think. thanks for any advice.

My bike is painted a Ford SVT pearl blue (the color code is Ford 2002 S1) with silver flames on it. I really like the look. The SVT blue gives a nice pearl look without being too "shifty" or looking over-done.

Just my 2.

i will download all the pics of the process that we have so far, and will try and get them posted tonight so that you can see. its still in bondo, and not primed yet, but you can get a gist of what its going to be like. note, i was not the one who did the welding on the rear doors, or the driver front door. the owner tried to do it him self and warped the doors, a lot. and you can see my repairs. then, when you look at the passenger front door, you will see how well i welded, just by the area that needed bondo. i will update pics as things get done.

Don't you love it when the backyard bodyman whips out heat to weld something and brings it to oyu to fix?

You just have to have a little pitty and don't have the heart to charge them what it really takes to fix it.They do have to help in the repair though to set them straight and learn not to do it again or it'll really cost them

Waiting for pix too buddy.

nice, ill have to make a sign like that, lol. thats pretty good. theres one thing that really bugs me about people that come to my shop. they always want stuff to be rushed. it drives me up the wall. im going to start turning them away if they want it rushed. i want to have the time to do quality work, not quantity. most people dont even give me enough time to wetsand and buff any of the dust nibs or anything out of their cars. as soon as they see that its cleared and hard, they want to take it. tooooo stressful. i guess i need to put a sign up: NO CUSTOMERS IN SHOP AREA!

Heres a link to see the car from before i got ahold of it. its not completely updated yet, but its showing progress.

this doesnt show any of the work that i have done to his car. i will get ahold of him and have him bring his camera over so i can download the pics onto my computer.
