Pearl Help

I am wanting to paint a purple pearl over a black base for the tank and fenders for my chop, and wanted to see if anybody has any suggestions on how much pearl to add to my clear. I don't want the parts to go purple on me, and I am not sure on the best route to take. I just want the purple to highlight the edges when light hits it. Can I mix the pearl in the black, or is there too many solids in the black to even allow the pearl to show through. Thanks for any info.

Purple pearl over black is awesome!Mix it in the first coat of clear or intercoat clear then, clear.Do some test panels first,a little goes a loooong way on black.I'm refering to paste or powder.I'd start with about an 1/8th inch on the tip of a teaspoon .The more you spray, the lighter it gets.If you don't get coverage on the first pass, don't keep spraying, let it tack and then do another coat.
