We are painting my race car just plain old Bright Canary Yellow off a 92 Probe. My dad would like to know what the color would look like with a white pearl sprayed over top of it. I know you can give me exact details but just an idea would be nice.

JR, white pearl will dull the brightness of your yellow base coat

We are looking for a way to make it something more then just plain yellow, and suggestions, we do want to use that color base though.

What about yellow metal flake? it will give the paint a glitter like effect.

You can also use yellow pearl toner (75-25 mix with base clear-895 in the PPG line) over the yellow. This will tone down the brightness of the yellow, but not as bad as the white. I used this on the past couple of jobs that contained a bright yellow.

Only spray about 2-3 coats over the yellow.
Looks great in the sun.

IN NEW ZEALAND FORD BROUGHT OUT A BRIGHT YELLOW 3/LAYER PEARL THAT USE A VERY REDUCED BLUE PEARL ON TOP OF THE YELLOW.
IT LOOKS GREAT ,BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IT IS VERY DIFFUCULT TO COLOR MATCH FOR A SMASH REPAIR BLEND OUT .
YOU END UP HAVING TO SPRAY THE WHOLE SIDE OF A CAR FOR ONE DENT USUALLY
THE BLOODY INSURANCE COMPANIES CANT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THIS ,,AYE REX...
