I made a great discovery when it comes to pinstriping for the challenged. To this point I have been laying out my flames, spraying the edges where the pinstripping will be, and then covering the border with either 1/8th or 1/16th fineline tape. Then you spray the flames in what ever color you are doing them in. But before spraying the flames, you have to tape up the fine crack between the original flame outline and the tape you used to create the pinstripping. The problem with doing this is especially on curves such as the ovals, as soon as you start spraying, the top tape covering the crack starts to pull away, exposing the crack to future coats and making a mess. Very frustrating! I recentally started using some water based "spray mask" I got at innate to cover the crack between the two tapes. I use a fine brush and run a bead down the joint, let it dry, and then start to spray the flame color. Works great and eliminates the second layer of tape which always comes loose for me. I have had no leakage in the crack and it just peels off easily when you are removing the rest of the masking at the end of the flame spraying. I love it and am no longer cursing as I am spraying the flames and the tape starts to peel back, making a mess. Just thought I would share that.
