Plastic clearing

Hey, how's it going. Well here's the situation. My brother wanted to renew his quad plastics. So he bought that platic renew kit. It looked like crap, so I offered to take than and sand them then clear. Thing is I don't want grit to end with. At hand I have 400,500 and 1200. I'm also not sure if to add a coat of adhesion promoter?? Thanks in advance

Are the plastics painted or is the color molded into the plastic (ABS?)

Ya color is molded into plastic so pretty much you can just sand the crap out of it and will still have color. At the moment it's all 500 and about to clear just want a go ahead from you guys

Actually, I would have just buffed it to bring out the shine, But if you would like to clearcoat it, I would suggest at least going with a 1000 grit. If it's a solid color, you can go with an 800...

:luck:

On a good note though, since you are reclearing, it will last longer than if you just buffed it :bigokay:
