polishing clearcoat??

what products are good for polishing clearcoat? everyone just has said wet sand and polish. my paint looks really nice, but it doesn't have that shine. there's so many compounds and polishes at the store that i wanted to find out from u experienced guys what works good before i ^^% up my paint. thanx

TX, There's some good past posts on this subject. Basicly you need to have the surface "flat". This is accomplished by wet sanding with 800-1200 then progressing to 1500 then to 2000 then to a liquid micro finishing compound and finally to a glaze such as 3M Imperial. There's more to it than this but look at what has been posted previously by the experts. TC /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/agree.gif

thanks, man. i've been looking thru the posts and have found some good info. but i have yet to find one with the products that are the best. i'll keep looking thru past posts. maybe somebody has laid it out step by step and with what specific products.. problem is; the only two auto paint stores here close at five and i don't get done with work til 7pm. thanx...

I use 3M perfect it III products. For the final polish I use their hand glaze. Good stuff.
