I'm not really sure since I've never had to mess with it.From what I understand it's getting pretty close to ceramic in hardness (ever try to sand a stovetop?) and a comercial sandblaster has to really work to strip it off.Since it's cooked to cure I wonder if heat will soften it enough to be scraped off. There's a way to do it because I know people have had parts recoated and I'd think the original was removed first.

I painted on top of a black powder coated steel plate with no problems. I scuffed the powder coat with 600 grit wet then used PPG DBC base to paint a running horse (Mustang logo) and did some lettering around it, then cleared it with some Omni 161. It's held up fine since I painted it 4 months ago, but it's not something that takes on alot of abuse or wear either.

Well, keep in mind this piece I painted on is just a base for a small flag pole that a local Mustang club sticks next to one of their cars during shows, so it it's handled with great care and sits untouched for a few hours then gets tucked back in the trunk of some pristine 65 coupe 'till the next show. If it were exposed to the elements and used and abused for a while it may not hold up so good
