PPG Envirobase paints

Ultra Al

I was looking over the PPG Refinish Home site and got to reading about their product "Envirobase" which appears to be a non toxic water based paint that requires no heat cure and can be clear coated in a matter of minutes. Anybody gave this stuff a try yet? How does it compare to Urethanes?? AL

If you do a search you should be able to find a thread on this product. I've sprayed it and its prety neat, but you still use a regular urethane clear over it. The last time I was at the PPG training center here in MN they still had a long way to go in the color match department, before I would try to use it in the shop. It should be pretty cool when they get it dailed in though, after you blend out a color and its flashed off you can tack off the panel and I'm not kidding there is NO dry color overspray picked up, and it lays down completely smooth after its flashed no orange peel.
