ppg vibrance orange glow

okay i'm painting my helmet and it is black. i'm going to paint a orange glow stripe on it . is it okay to scuff the black and paint the sterling silver base then the orange top coat over or should i and down and do a white base then silver to get the proper shade?

well I guess that's up to you but since its a custom helmet and not going to match anything who's gonna know if its a shade or 2 off from the color card?

Watch that edge on the silver. If you get it too thick, and then apply the orange, it won't look that good.
I know you mentioned spraying a white first, you might want to spray a very light coat of solid gray first. This will help the silver cover quickly. Then spray your orange.
