PPG Vibrance

DMXHey everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to use the Radience colors in PPG's Vibrance line. I keep getting different answers from different people. Someone says that its meant to be used by mixing it into the DBC base color being painted. Others say its supposed to be mixed with something like DBC500 and used as a candy midcoat.

I have read the tech sheet over and over and I cant figure it out. The radience color i'm interested in using is the DMX219, which is the black. But advice on how the whole set up works would be greatly apprecieated.

thanks

I looked on my Vibrance color swatches, and I didn't see that number. Maybe what you are spraying is fairly new.
I haven't sprayed it anyway, so not for sure if I could be of any help.

Maybe another member can help?!

From what I see, this a tri-stage paint, which means there is another color you put on before the DMX219. Since this is a black color, I would assume that you would put a black base on.
Possibly the DMX219 is like a black candy which is just a transparent clear with black dye in it. You will see through it, thus giving a little bit richer appearance.

I see this working on some colors, but not really a black color.

Soooo, since I haven't sprayed this, I am only guessing.
If you do figure it out, let us all know. I'm interested.

Taz is correct it is a transparent color added to either the Base and or a midcoat so everyones correct, Its usually mixed with DBC500 for a midcoat , the DMX219 black would just darken the base color so if you sprayed a blue base then a black midcoat you would have a very dark black blue outcome, you can mix the DMX toners together to come up with about any transparent solid color.

the DMX toners are Basiclly Candy Concentrates just like the House of color products just PPG versions
