I have two motorcycles with lots of plastic body parts. In particular, I have a 1985 metallic blue Goldwing that has pinstripes made of some kind of material that look to have been applied and then clear coated onto the plastic trunk, saddlebags, and the plastic covering the gas tank. The pinstripes are deteriorating and detract from the visual appeal of the bike.
I'm looking for guidance on how to remove the pinstripes. I'm guessing that I would have to repaint when I've done that. Can anyone help me understand about removing the pinstripes and prepping and painting plastic?
