If you sprayed a primer surfacer, you will need to let it dry then sand either wet or dry. If you sprayed a primer sealer, then you can apply your base but, follow recomendations from the manufactuer on how long the sealer must flash off first.

should you put on a sealer after the primer surfacer??

what does the sealer do for you?

i've never used it, and my paint has turned out fine, is ther something down the road that sealers will help prevent.

Sealers help with adheasion and evenness of color. Some primer surfacers do not need a sealer sprayed over them if they are sanded with the right grit and you don't sand through. You pretty much just have to check your manufacturer and see what they recomend. I always do my repairs, use primer surfacer, let it dry, sand. Then seal, base, grafix/flames, then clear.
