Problem with primer on Honda plastic parts

I'm painting my bike (flames thanks to this site) and have run into a problem with the primer that Honda put on the ABS plastic parts.

In a couple of spots I had to sand down to bare plastic to remove stone chips and the primer I used and also the base coat (ICI) is reacting with the primer under the original paint.

The edge around the bare plastic crackles (lifts) when it reacts with the paints. I also tried a red oxide primer and it did the same thing.

What can I prime with to seal whatever primer is on the plastic?

Do I have to strip the plastic parts completly down to bare plastic and start again now?

TIA,

Steve

its not just Honda all the other bikes that ive paint that are plastic will do it. just put light coats on at first and then as you get it covered more then start to get it a little wetter with your primer thats how i get it to work
