I'm painting my bike (flames thanks to this site) and have run into a problem with the primer that Honda put on the ABS plastic parts.
In a couple of spots I had to sand down to bare plastic to remove stone chips and the primer I used and also the base coat (ICI) is reacting with the primer under the original paint.
The edge around the bare plastic crackles (lifts) when it reacts with the paints. I also tried a red oxide primer and it did the same thing.
What can I prime with to seal whatever primer is on the plastic?
Do I have to strip the plastic parts completly down to bare plastic and start again now?
TIA,
Steve
