is there a secret to untaping HOK candies so they leave a smooth edge? Mine are ALMOST smooth but with a few "hairs" where the paint kind of strung. any suggestions would be great.
Look at the edge of your tape before you spray candies. Sometimes the tape will move and leave glue exposed. You can remove the glue with some mineral spirits and it should give you a cleaner edge.
Any more ideas? I can actually see the paint "stretching" as I pull the tape off. Maybe I should wait longer or shorter length of time before unmasking.
OK, I think i figured it out, I wasn't waiting long enough for the candy to dry before i untaped it. It has to dry a LOT LONGER than base coats. Thanks for your advise and help.
