How does PPG compare to HoK urethanes? Do they have more than one line of paint? are the prices reasonable? Do they have a wide variety of color? I have never used PPG but have noticed a lot of people on the board praising them.

PPG is a normal painting system for auto refinishing carrying lacquer, the many enamels and all the urethanes,Any color put on a car, trucks, big rigs, bikes, etc can be had plus you can make any color you want pretty much. You can also pretty much get the same from DuPont,BASF,Sherwin Williams,Sikkens, etc.PPG is a great paint and seems to be the universal favorite. They supply the paint for many car manufacturers and if they dont now they did supply HOK with alot of their ingredients for their paint.HOK is more a specialty custom paint that has things you won't find in the other lines like a much wider selection of pearls, the black pearls, neons, etc.Pricewise they're pretty close but the cost can get up there with some colors going for $90/pint for some of the wilder car colors.

Thanks Rex. I recently inherited my fathers bike and am going to do a sort of memorial paint job on it this winter. I think I'll try the PPG products and see if I like them.
