I just mixed up some sg100 and kandy koncentrate to make my own kandy color. I had some places where the sg 100 lifted when unmasking. Do you think I unmasked too soon or too late? It was sort of "rubbery" when I pulled the tape up.Thanks for any help.

If you read my reply to Hoss's problem, you'd see I don't use the HOK SG-100 much anymore for mainly the same reason you encountered. It lifts too damn easy! Lately I only use the SG-100 mixed with KK on areas that don't need masking, such as shading in dark areas or adding some color to add depth. The SG-100 needs LOTS of tooth. I prefer to mix a small amount of clear and then tint with the KK.
On the attached pic of a closeup skull eye, I used the SG-100 with some tangerine KK but it was freehand and no taping required.
I think SG-100 causes a lotta problems for folks. I'd rather use clear/KK mix and not worry about it lifting.
Good luck,
Phil

Does HOK make a catalyst for their base coats? I know PPG does, if they do that might help. So far I've only used the KU kandys.

I've never read anywhere that the HOK catalyst can or should be used with their basecoats but I have always added a drop or two when using HOK striping enamels.
I would think that the UK catalyst could be used with the basecoats, but sparingly. Try a few test panels. I can't see where it could hurt unless too much was used.
Let us know what ya find out Austin.
