how do u paint ghost flames, people sa that u just spray the basecoat, then sray flames with clearcoat with pearl in it the paint over everything with plain clear. is that it? any other beginner pointers welcome
That's pretty much it.You do want to mix the pearl in a basecoat clear and not in the final topcoat clear though.It'll keep your tape edge thinner and is much cheaper.The bummer is the mix ratio depends on what kind of pearl you use.Dry is the most commonly used but there are still some pastes around and are usually pretty highly concentrated.I just wing it until it looks right,but if you're not sure spray a small test panel and you can add more pearl or clear to adjust it.Scott and EZ can tell you a good general ratio since they do it more than me.Off the top of my head I want to say 10% dry pearl by volume is close.
