questions about devilbiss finishline flg3

I borrowed a buddys flg3 finishline spray gun to base and clear my tins this winter.

question about the fluid tip and needle.

So it has the 1.5 fluid tip. Looks like I need the 1.3 size for base and clears?

Tell me about the needle and fluid tip. Do they come in a kit. Does the needle change with the fluid tip size? or do I just pickup a 1.3 fluid tip?

my gti came w/ the 1.2 1.3 & 1.4. right now i'm running the 1.4. i think you'll be ok w/ the 1.5 if you can't find a 1.3, but you'll have to move quick and set the gun up well.

i have one needle and it works w/ all my tips.

"move quick" due to the amount of paint or clear being sprayed correct?

ya. you want it to lay out nice but you don't want so much build up that it runs. so do some practice pannels, if you see dry spots your not covering well enough, if it's too thick you're too slow. you just have to find a happy medium. you don't want too much build up, so the paint can cure correctly, but you want it to flow nice.

I need to pick up a 1.3 fluid tip. Seen them on ebay for like 33$.

i don't think you should have a problem w/ it, i know guys that shoot w/ like a 1.7. you just have to get the feel for it.

if you have a larger tip size.. just tighten the screw for the trigger a bit.. so you can't use it all the way.. then you should be good to go

I have a couple these guns and i shoot my clear with the 1.5 ,works good for me.Be careful and limit your fluid and youll be fine.
